Spirit of Community - A Sense of Belonging

Residence life staff and Environmental Residents are actively involved in our community and are effectively led by our four student Head Proctors. Collectively, the residential life program involves 34 Proctors, over 50 Assistant Proctors and over 20 Environmental Residents.
Beyond housing, our Student Body President and the President of the Order of Gownsmen in concert with two Student Trustees work to represent students' interest to a variety of governing boards and University committees. The Presidents of student government and OG, also, will spend part of their summer preparing to welcome new members of our community.
Each new and enduring tradition strives to bind students to this sacred place, and our community members have the joy of witnessing college students acting, singing, dancing, rowing, leading, praying and living together in unity and harmony.
Leadership & Involvement

Fall is also the season to explore lectures, performances, and academic course offerings for the Easter term. Many student organizations and outreach trips for the winter and spring breaks are also recruiting and accepting applications to participate. Perhaps most predictably, the Sewanee Outing Program continues to take students on a myriad of outdoor adventures.
